#GivingTuesdayNow

#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of generosity and unity, a day to come together and give back in response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19, no matter who or where we are.

The coronavirus is already forcing families in our community to the edge of homelessness by devastating their income.  St. Thomas continues to help, without the benefit of our Sunday offertory donations. Our greatest source of income has been drastically reduced, but we are facing a massive crisis and our needs continue to grow

Will you please make an urgent gift of $25 to provide emergency assistance to our neighbors?

Our community has been hard hit by the fallout of the coronavirus and the stay-at-home orders.  Many in our community live on the margins and they are especially vulnerable to falling through the cracks. Some of our older people can’t go to food distribution points because they’re older and have limited mobility.   I have been talking with families that do not have any income at all, are not eligible for government protection, and do not know where their next meal is coming from.

There are no funds in our budget to meet this unexpected need.  While we are working to spread the Gospel Message to the neediest and most neglected among us, our Parish expenses do not disappear.  We must meet staff salaries, pay for utilities and other necessities, and manage expenses.

The longer this goes on, the amount of people turning to the parish is going to exponentially rise as personal funding and savings runs out and we try to stop more of our community from falling through the cracks.

Your gift today will provide instant relief and safety to those that need it and ensure that St Thomas can continue to do this good work. Your gift today will provide instant relief and safety.

Your action is needed now. Please make your gift to provide emergency assistance with urgency. You’ll help keep a family from slipping through the cracks for one day … and every day counts right now.

God Bless You
